I am getting into competitive shooting and I was wondering if there is an optimal amount of practices that I should do.

I suppose you have completed the instructional side of your training(the fundamentals) and you are ready to compete. For beginning I suggest you participate in one tournament per month. You should practice 1,2 times/week. If on the first practice of the week you will work on your fundamentals, in the second practice of the week try to set up some goals close to your skills' level. In this way you put a little pressure on your shooting and see how you react. After you shoot the tournament analyze what you did and go back to practice. If you have problems look for professional help.
