Have you tried shooting without a front bead sight on the barrel?

Mine fell of the gun and I was wondering how much can my shooting be affected by a missing bead? I shot a few targets without much of a difference.

I haven't used one for years. During a lesson, a coach made me remove it. I never saw a need to put it back on. The only thing I use it for is to check that my mount is straight down the barrel, but you really don't need a bead for that. I have a small mid bead as well and it works fine for alignment purposes. I'd caution anyone beyond a new shooter that you should always be looking at the bird, not the barrel. That's one of the quickest ways to stop the gun mid swing.

The first modification to a new gun of mine is removing that bead. I have a tendency to look at the gun and don't need anything drawing my eyes back. On the other hand several of my buddies use not only a bead, but the Hi Viz bead. They say they don't look at it, just helps their "visual relationship" to the target & barrel for lead. If it is there I will look back at it.

One of the first things I learned after getting my 525 Sporting with the HI Viz front bead, is that my eye was drawn to the bead no matter what color the light tube I had in. So to solve this problem I've blacked out an all white light tube using a sharpie marker. I had messed with the idea one time after a light tube broke on me right before I went out on the course and I couldn't find my extra tubes. That day I shot with no front light tube, but I found myself looking through the hole where the light tube was suspose to be. My scores continue to improve now that I removed the distraction.
